Joe was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1981 and moved to WV with his family in 1984. His family was originally from WV and the Jeffries' roots can be traced back to the early 1800's, in what is now Putnam County, WV.
Joe lives in Culloden, WV (Putnam County) with his wife (Tracy), 2 children (Dylan & Kaytlin), along with their 2 dogs and a cat.
Joe spent 14 years in the transportation industry. At the age of 21, Joe started working for a 24/7 delivery services in Cross Lanes, WV where he worked hard to earn his way up into larger commercial vehicles. In 2004, he upgraded his license to a Class B CDL and started his trucking career. After multiple layoffs and the annoyance of having to look for new jobs frequently with so little options, he decided to upgrade his CDL to a Class A.
In 2018, Joe decided it was time to get out of a truck to enjoy more time with his family. He decided top go back into Maintenance Management, which he had done prior to going to the transportation industry. Joe now manages the facility maintenance for multiple commercial properties in the Charleston-Huntington areas.
In 2016 Joe started gaining an interest in serving the public by running for an elected office. Joe had been watching and learning the WV Legislative process for a few years through his activism with the West Virginia Citizens Defense League. Learning the process was a key factor in why Joe decided to get involved.
"Once I learned the process I became very interested in running for office. I started reaching out to the Republican Party in my area after the 2016 election to inform them of my intentions to run for office. I ran because I was tired of politicians raising our taxes and trying to take our rights away from us little by little. I knew it was my time to serve the public and bring ideas that most WVians can relate to. We need more people who know what it's truly like to live here, people who struggle like most of us have for many years. Rich politicians seem to forget what it's like, or maybe they have never known what it's like. It's time to give Government back to the people where it belongs" ~Joe Jeffries
Joe enjoys life in the outdoors. He enjoys things his home state has plenty of environment for such as hiking, hunting, & camping. Joe likes to travel and is interested in seeing most everything from the mountains to the coasts. Anything with some history behind it is very appealing to him. Traveling to other countries is something he would like to do, if and when he's able to. Joe was fortunate to be able to visit Playa Del Carmen, Mexico in 2012 for a wedding and again in 2016 with friends on vacation.
